Make neighborhood improvements and attractive community spaces:

  • Continuing to reclaim and clean up former industrial sites for redevelopment
  • Finding solutions to minimize vacant properties
  • Improving neighborhoods to protect property values
  • Providing support to neighborhood groups

Ensure city-wide safety by:

  • Fostering safe and inviting neighborhoods
  • Continuing to support the needs of Goshen Police, Fire, and Ambulance

Cooperate with community partnerships that support healthy families by:

  • Supporting and building unity within our diverse community
  • Celebrating the efforts of neighborhood associations
  • Promoting our schools, social services, and healthcare organizations

Manage your tax dollars by:

  • Protecting and delivering all essential city services
  • Continuing the careful fiscal management that has allowed our city to maintain vital services and improve upon the quality of life while coping with a total loss of nearly $40 million in property taxes since 2009
  • Looking for budget efficiencies
  • Evaluating priorities with public and stakeholder input and discussion
  • Working hard to continue protecting the City budget and managing our cash balances, which has grown by $14 million since the beginning of his term, putting the City at a 6 month cash reserve level

Create a healthy climate for business growth, jobs, and ongoing economic and community development by:

  • Targeting tax incentives to attract and retain quality higher paying jobs
  • Working with developers to help create shovel-ready business sites
  • Supporting existing and new businesses and the Goshen Chamber of Commerce
  • Staying vigilant and finding ways to diversify our local business culture
  • Planning and providing needed infrastructure for smart growth

Prioritize traffic flow improvements and infrastructure renewal plans by:

  • Continuing to work with INDOT to improve the US 33 route and other state roads in Goshen
  • Working to finalize important projects involving Kercher Road
  • Continuing to move forward with our side walk programs for both maintenance and expansion
  • Working to improve our pedestrian and bicycle trail systems
